We just raised $15M to transform enterprise GIS with AI
We are on a mission to make maps easy for everyone – today marks a huge step forward.
We are on a mission to make maps easy for everyone – today marks a huge step forward.

We're excited to share that we've just closed a $15 million funding round led by Energize Capital, with Bain Capital Ventures and Footwork VC joining in. This is going to help us supercharge our mission to completely transform how enterprises work with GIS by weaving AI into everyday spatial workflows – we're talking about cutting deployment times by 75% here.

Why we raised $15m to tackle legacy GIS' biggest problem

We're living in a world where most critical industries depend on mapping tech for their day-to-day operations and big decisions. The GIS market is now worth $9.8 billion, which shows just how much demand there is. But here's what's frustrating: actually accessing and using spatial data is still way harder than it should be.

Despite this growing demand, accessing and leveraging spatial data remains a challenge. Because traditional GIS platforms demand specialized expertise, business teams are often forced to route mapping and data requests through technical departments, slowing workflows and diminishing the utility of valuable geospatial insights. Felt eliminates this bottleneck by making it simple to connect any cloud source and build high-performance, user-friendly tools that empower teams across the organization.

How Felt is solving the GIS problem

Felt has spent the past three years working closely with global enterprises to really understand how spatial data can empower entire organizational workflows – not just the GIS teams. These enterprises shared that despite major investments in cloud infrastructure and highly skilled teams to deploy it, spatial data is still being underutilized in decision-making. Felt is flipping that on its head by adding AI to every code-based workflow so your technical teams can deliver on requests in minutes, not months, ultimately making spatial insights faster to access, easier to scale, and way more impactful across every business unit.

Proven to speed up delivery and lower costs

We're proud to work with some amazing organizations like MSCI, Arevon, Cambridge Systematics, INTENT, and the County of Santa Barbara Department of Public Works. Our customers are tackling some of today's biggest challenges – from delivering renewable energy to dealing with climate change risks.

One story that really shows what we can do: Northern Arizona University needed to build a tool for sharing real-time spatial data with dozens of Arizona's Department of Forestry and Fire Management foresters.

"We needed a tool to share real-time spatial data with dozens of Arizona's Department of Forestry and Fire Management foresters across the state," said Alexander Shenkin, Director of NAU's Ecosystem Science and Innovation Lab. "Our initial estimate was a year of development work and $250,000 in consulting fees. With Felt, our team built the EcoMonitor in just a few weeks, delivering critical forest health and fire-prevention data to the hands of our foresters a year early."

What our investors think

"Our team has done extensive research on the GIS market – and we have found that legacy tools have not kept up with the needs of the modern enterprise, which hemorrhage money on services as a result," said Juan Muldoon, partner at Energize Capital. "Felt's customers are delighted by the platform performance and intuitive design that makes it easy for anyone on the team to adopt. Their traction is undeniable, and with AI, they are about to transform the GIS experience even further."

What's Next

We're planning to use this funding to expand our team and build out more product offerings, including our Felt AI development and data analysis tools. Learn more here.
